For the first time, there are more Muslims than Catholics

According to the Vatican’s 2008 yearbook of statistics, Muslims now outnumber Catholics for the first time.

Muslims made up 19.2 per cent of the world’s population and Catholics 17.4 per cent. For the first time ever, there are more Muslims than Roman Catholics, according to the statistic.

The Vatican recently put the number of Catholics in the world at 1.13billion and Muslims are generally estimated at around 1.3billion.
