Here are some of the declared and potential US presidential candidates for the Republican and Democratic Party nominations for the 2008 election (Reuters, 13 February 2007)

Democrats:

  1. Joseph Biden, US senator from Delaware and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

  2. Chris Dodd, US senator from Connecticut.

  3. John Edwards, former US senator from North Carolina and the vice presidential nominee in 2004.

  4. Mike Gravel, former US senator from Alaska

  5. Dennis Kucinich, US representative from Ohio and 2004 presidential candidate.

  6. Barack Obama, US senator from Illinois.

  7. Tom Vilsack, former Iowa governor.

  8. Hillary Rodham Clinton, US senator from New York and former first lady.
  9. Bill Richardson, New Mexico governor.

  10. Wesley Clark, retired US Army general and 2004 presidential candidate.

Republicans:

  1. Sam Brownback, US senator from Kansas.

  2. Duncan Hunter, US representative from California.

  3. Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts governor.

  4. James Gilmore, former Virginia governor.
  5. Rudolph Giuliani, former New York mayor.

  6. Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor.

  2. I like the corp of candidates for the upcoming 2008 presidential race. However, I think that Obama needs more experience. He should run for vice president first to gain the experience he needs to be an effective president
