Vander Hoven – the Power of Allah
Vander Hoven, a psychologist from Netherlands, announced his new discovery about the effect of reading the Quran and repeating the word ALLAH both on patients and on normal persons. The Dutch professor confirms his discovery with studies and research applied on many patients over a period of three years.
Some of his patients were non-Muslims, others do not speak Arabic and were trained to pronounce the word “ALLAH” clearly; the result was great, particularly on those who suffer from dejection and tension.
Al Watan, a Saudi daily reported that the psychologist was quoted to say that Muslims who can read Arabic and who read the Quran regularly can protect themselves from psychological diseases. The psychologist explained how each letter in the word “ALLAH” affects healing of psychological diseases. He pointed out in his research that pronouncing the first letter in the word “ALLAH” which is the letter (A), released from the respiratory system, controls breathing. He added that pronouncing the velar consonant (L) in the Arabic way, with the tongue touching slightly the upper part of the jaw producing a short pause and then repeating the same pause constantly, relaxes the aspiration. Also, pronouncing the last letter which is the letter (H) makes a contact between the lungs and the heart and in turn this contact controls the heart beat.
What is exciting in the study is that this psychologist is a non-Muslim, but interested in Islamic sciences and searching for the secrets of the Holy Quran. Allah, The Great and Glorious, says, We will show them Our signs in the universe and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (Quran) is the truth. (Holy Quran 42:53)

Brothers is it authentic have this psychologist publish any paper, unfortunately I tried to find but could not. I only find this article on Muslims website.
I and all Muslims believe I may happened Allah is almighty than this tiny miracle, but how you will prove this to a non Muslims can you give any authentic material to them to verify?

The psychologist is suggesting to address the heart rather than the mind. He is a non-Muslim. He found success with using the greatest name of the creator. We don’t know where he got the idea from, but the quran does say: “.. in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Quran. Chapter 13,The Thunder, verse 28)
what mr.Vander discovered through his researches is my very own experiance.

Dont ask such questions, even Vander Hoven dont know who he is and where he is. Just look on this page, how fictitious it is, it is not Vander Hoven’s web site, no reference to it, no link etc etc. I cant say any more.
I agree with Abbas… I don’t find any sources but from islamic sources. this for all we know could have been fabricated but subhana’Allah I know that such thing is true but where is the real research. Van der hoven is a last name not a name!!! 😦

i would like to bring your kind attention towards this topic which is displayed on your website and some other at least 700 websites. It mentions about a Dutch Psychologist Van Der Hoven doing a research on name of Allah.
Brothers we are all aware of Allah, the psychological effects this name have by our own personal practical experience. But why do we want to show the world this thing in a fake maner. I have done an extensive research and found that there is no professor by that name, at least not in psychological studies. the name of the research university is not mentioned. from which it seems to be that some one have simply created a story.
To prove Quran and words of Allah, we do not need fake stories. Quran and Allah are the truth and truth proves itself. It never needs fake supports.
the after effects of this fake story is that the non muslims around the world are raising fingers on this issue and saying that see Islam and muslims are now creating fake stories to prove their rightness.
Brother can we please stop this happening and remove this from our all the sites. this is my small effort. Please do remember me in your prayers. May Allah guide us all towards the right path. JazakAllah.

well, this whole thing is just another example why muslims are dumb and seemingly doomed to be dumb for the next forseeable few cenutries.
for goodness sakes, see the message of the quran and get on with life without pedaling lies about God and trickining yourselves and others to confuse faith with this kind of rubbish.

A few questions to ask ourselves:
– Where was ‘his’ ‘discovery’ ‘announced’ ?
– Where was the ‘research’ done? Which University / Hospital?
– What does a psychologist have to do with lungs and heart [Clearly this hoaxer (if) doesn’t know what he wrote]
– The Muslims themselves are doing so much nonsense and terrorism (antonym of ‘peace’) in the name of Allah. Some may say that these Muslims are not sincerely doing it for the sake of Allah. Aight, then how will pronouncing ‘Allah’ by non Muslims have any effect?
When we say non Muslims, we have to make clear that they may be in the deepest of shirk (associating partners with Allah), may be into all sorts of haraam activities etc….

– In Netherlands, the name Van Der Hoven is very common, its like the name ‘Muhammed’ – so imagine a mail which says: ‘Muhammed, a psychologist from India…….’ The 1st statement is fishy enough….
No doubt Islam is the truth and we have genuine ways to prove it, but we don’t need to desperately prove it… esp since when we don’t have a daleel (proof) of it.

I received an email today on this research.. when you read at the bottom “If you love ALLAH and you are not ashamed of all the great things that he has done for you,then send this to everyone you know”, you know that someone is making money at the end of the chain ..So PLEASE STOP FORWARDING these islamic emails.Those people that create such emails know that one muslim will pass it without thinking twice about it and so creat a chain of emails.

In many situations in recent history Muslims have been the worst enemies of Islam. We are too emotional and, due to the current confusing state of the Muslim nation we usually grasp any piece of information which appears to support or verify Islam, promote and push that piece of information as if Allah (s.w.t.) needs our help to prove his existence and his authenticity. Allah (s.w.t.) Said in the Qur’an “Oh you believers, if a fasik (corrupt non-believer) brings you any news, you should verify it” I am not a psychologist myself but apparently some other brothers who are psychologist has indicated that the name of Vander Hoven is not known as a psychologist researchers.
If somebody knows how to reach Al-Watan (the Saudi newspaper) that apparently published this article to start with. Please do so and request them to present any evidence they have to prove that the research is authentic and that the researcher really exists. If that newspaper can not provide evidence, we as Muslims should sew them for misrepresentation.
Something does not make sense. If a person is not Muslim and he is good reputable researcher that really believe in his work and he discovered and proved through clinical tests that the Qur’an has a healing power, Would that person waste any moment before becoming Muslim? The fact that such researcher did not announce his Islam and did not come very loud and clear declaring his discovery indicates that either he did not exist or if he exited and actually spoke of his research, he did not really believe it himself.
We do not need debate, discussion or war of words to promote or defend Islam. I strongly believe that the best way to promote Islam is simply by living as Muslims ourselves, we can not promote Islam while some of us are thieves, some are killers, some are drug dealers, most of us are liars and hypocrite. These are the facts, yes they hurt but they are true. May Allah guide all people, Muslims and non Muslims alike.

of time now, over ten years actually, because blind acceptance of stories from ”Very authentic sources” once caused me personally, a great deal of embarrassment in front of my non Muslim friends (I am a member of London’s Inter Faith Forum and, more particularly in that, the Christian Muslim Forum) I have, for long, made it a point
never to accept any such thing without doing appropriate research and verification first ….. So I started making inquires; just as I had feared, I couldn’t find one single person anywhere in Europe who could corroborate the existence of this Mr Van Der Hoven in the relevant field and context.
To me, it does not matter what A “Psychology Professor” says or does not say, no matter whether he is from Holland, United States or wherever; shukr al-hamdolILLAH, I am a Momin and Muslim and so have an unshakeable belief in the ONE and Only, ALLAH Subhana Wata’aala, regardless of whether my lungs ‘touch’ my heart or they stay apart within the Thoracic Cavity and diaphragm without touching; it is my ‘Eimann’ which is the important thing ….. And Eimann also in the religion which Mohammed Radoolillah, peace be upon him, brought, followed and preached to the world i.e. to be a Muslim and only a Muslim; not Sunni, nor Shia or any sub sect. I am totally ‘Paak’ from firqabundi of any type or kind which ALLAH Tabaaraka Wata’aala has forbidden through Qur’aan.
I try and follow HIS instructions practically and that is
enough for me regardless of what is happening between my lungs and the heart (Or spleen and the liver !)
So, I am how very interested in finding out:
1. Who is this “Professor” Van Der Hoven, really ?
2. Where does he practice (or teach) Psychology ?
3. When did he make this discovery and come out with the heart and lungs theory ?
And as somebody has quite rightly expressed puzzlement …..
4. What does a psychologist (even from Holland !) know or, has got to do with the functions of Heart and Lung ??
I have been student of Anatomy myself and know that in
any kind of speech, lungs have to exhale air which, in turn, deflate the lungs; with words ending in “H” sounds, lungs have to exhale a lot more; the lungs do NOT expand, they contract, so how do they “touch” the heart ? (And in any event, what does it matter that they do, or don’t ?)
5. Which “University” in the Netherlands did this Psychologist make the “Discovery” in ?
As it happens, Netherland is not a small little town or district but a fair sized Country; there are 23 State owned and 6 Private Universities in Netherlands, the oldest called ‘Leiden University’ also has a Medical School, was founded in 1575CE and has a staff of nearly 4,000 and there are 18.000 students, so, which University are we talking about ?
Telling a lie or making false statements is referred to as the Mother of Sins in Islam and if somebody thinks that making up stories is “Okay” as long as it is being done in ‘service’ of ALLAH Subhana Wata’aala, he and those who believe the falsehood, are in for a Big Surprise !
If somebody can answer the above querries, I shall be eternally grateful to him/her …… but no tall tales, please.

What was the tenure of this research? Has this report been published in any of the specific journals or got place in just vernacular press of OIC nations. I never came across any research or researcher Van Der Hoven? Are we again been fooled?
